Plaid Goat MTB Festival is a 3-day (June 23-25) cultural celebration revelling in the mountain bike stoke of the Canadian Rockies. The weekend will include a main expo/festival, bike demos for Demo-licious Days wristband holders, group rides, a craft beer tent, kms on end of great Canadian singletrack & a few surprises!
Here’s what to expect June 23–25:
Demo-licious Days: allows the public to sample the tastiest bikes of the season from the best mountain bike brands in the industry.
A local craft beer tent hosting handpicked high quality local brewers, wine and other beverages
Fun spectator events like our Bike Rodeo hosted by The Flannel Crew
Family friendly non-race activities: Kids Only Hub, group rides and coaching clinics
Representation from grass-roots mountain bike associations across the whole region
Wildlife safety and trail building sessions demonstrating our commitment to responsible riding
Collaboration with partner-run, fun & friendly events like TransRockies Race Series’ Rundle’s Revenge
Ride the Rockies Regional Trails Fund
Plaid Goat will donate an annual contribution to mountain bike associations; the groups dedicated to caring for the mountain bike trails across our region. This will be done by creating the Ride the Rockies Regional Trails Fund and distributing grants to qualifying mountain bike alliances.
Plaid Goat Mountain Bike Fest is a new mountain bike tourism experience that will break down barriers, while breaking new ground. The activities at this three-day festival will be different from any other event in Western Canada as it will align to the following pillars:
- Regional collaboration
- Celebration of our Canadian culture and the unique experience of mountain biking in the Canadian Rockies
- Inclusion and FUN!
- Socio-economic reinvestment
