It never ceases to amaze just how much Canadiana Canmore exudes. From our mining heritage to the Olympians who call Canmore home and the iconic legends of mountain adventure sport. Canmore has always been a community of some hardy folk! It should be no surprise that Canmore has set the benchmark for winter biking in North America.
International Winter Bike to Work/School Day
The new year is often a time of reminiscing about the year past as well as setting goals for the year ahead. With the 5th Annual Winter Bike to Work Day quickly approaching it’s hard not to take a look back at what Canmore accomplished 2016. If the International Winter Bike to Work Day is any measure, Canmore had a pretty good year!
For 2016 Canmore had the highest participation per capita of any community in North America!
When considering meccas like Portland or Whistler, and warmer climates in areas such as the southern states, it is incredible to see Canmore set the bar in North America for biking in the winter. Looking at the fifty top ranking cities on the continent, Canmore’s per capita turnout bested communities including Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Vernon, Calgary, and Edmonton as well as neighbors to the south like Seattle, Portland, New York, Tucson, and even San Francisco!
The 5th Annual Winter Bike to Work/School day on February 10, 2017 will again put Canmore’s Canadiana culture to the test. Come Ride with us and keep Canmore on the map!
