More Hang-Time in Canmore

Earlier this year Gavin Conner of Hang-Time Bike Parks Inc. breathed new life into the “Cemetery” bike park. The Cemetery Bike Park Jump Jam marked the grand opening with a massive turnout of participants and spectators of all ages. The next generation of riders in Canmore have definitely taken notice and use of the park has been amazing all season long.

The goal was to put together an event that everyone, young and old, could enjoy whether you watched, volunteered or took part in it.
The end result was getting everyone to smile, meet new jump buddies, have fun and check out a sweet show.”

There’s been no rest for the wicked… Hang-Time has been hard at work up at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park since. Some serious Hang-Time is getting built in at the Nordic Centre too with sculpted berms and big lips. Gavin and the Nordic Centre¬†were pushing hard to get the park open this fall before snow shut things down for the year. But with rain and cold weather it has been a challenge to get the soils to dry and pack properly.

With two of the three bike parks in Canmore getting rebuilt in 2015 plus new bike lanes all over town and nice additions like bike shelters and bike maintenance stands, everyone is noticing that bikes are part of who we are.

Check out some of the images and video from the work in progress at the Nordic Centre!
